Is ElectroBoard free?
No. ElectroBoard is completely free. An account is only needed for cloud storage and sharing.
Can I work without an account?
The calculators (/tools) and viewing shared links work without an account. Working with the panel editor requires an account — it is needed to save your projects.
Where are my projects stored?
Projects are stored in two places at once: your browser's localStorage (for fast access and offline work) and the Supabase cloud database (for syncing across devices).
Can I open my project on another device?
Yes. Sign in to your account on another device and your projects will be available. Changes sync through the cloud.
How many projects can I create?
There is no limit. Each project has its own network parameters and a separate panel.
Does ElectroBoard follow the standards?
ElectroBoard follows IEC 60364 for:
- Cable current-carrying capacity by installation method (IEC 60364-5-52)
- Protection selectivity rules
- Earthing systems (TN-S, TN-C-S, TN-C, TT, IT)
- Permissible voltage drop
However, ElectroBoard is a design tool, not a substitute for official project documentation. The final decision always rests with a qualified electrician or designer.
What does the red save dot in the toolbar mean?
A red dot (🔴) means the last cloud save failed (for example, because there is no internet). Changes are saved locally and sync once the connection is restored. A green dot (🟢) means everything is saved.
How do I hand a panel project to a colleague?
There are two ways:
- View link — via "Share" in the toolbar. Your colleague opens the panel in a browser without an account.
- .eboard file — via "Export" → "Save .eboard". Send the file by any convenient means (messenger, email). Your colleague opens it via "Export" → "Open .eboard" — a new project is created.
What is an .eboard file?
It is a JSON file with all the panel data: rails, devices, network settings, and cables. It is not tied to an account — anyone with this file can open the project in ElectroBoard.
Can I undo deleting a device?
Yes, press ⌨️ Ctrl+Z right after deleting. The action history (undo/redo) is kept throughout your work on the project.
How do I delete my account and data?
There is no self-service account-deletion button in the interface yet. To delete your account and all associated data, send a request through any convenient channel: the built-in support — the "Ticket" button on the panel page (see Support and Reports) — or Telegram: eBoard_UA. Once the account is deleted, all your projects, tickets and screenshots are gone for good.
Is a mobile app planned?
ElectroBoard already works as a PWA — the installed app is visually indistinguishable from a native one. A separate mobile app is not planned. Learn more: Install as an app.
Can we work together on one project?
Not at the moment. Collaborative editing (email invitations with editor/viewer roles) is planned for future versions. For now, you can share a project for viewing via sharing.
What is the AI standards assistant?
A built-in AI chat available on every ElectroBoard page (the button in the bottom-right corner). It answers electrical questions, citing specific standard clauses. In the editor the AI sees your panel configuration and can give context-aware advice.
Where can I find the full standards reference?
ElectroBoard has a built-in standards reference with clause-by-clause explanations in plain language. Every standards citation from the AI assistant links to the corresponding reference page.
What browsers are supported?
ElectroBoard runs in any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, on desktop and mobile. There is nothing to install: open the site and start working. If you prefer, you can add the panel as an app (PWA) — see Installing the App.
Can I use ElectroBoard for industrial panels?
ElectroBoard is optimised for residential and light-commercial distribution boards. Many device types and calculations apply to industrial use as well, but assemblies to IEC 61439 (power switchgear, large-capacity cabinets) are not the primary design target.
Can I export to DWG or DXF?
Not yet. Export is available to PDF and SVG (see Export and Print) — enough for printing the diagram, the bill of materials and the labels. DWG/DXF export for CAD is on the roadmap.
The app is not updating — what should I do?
If you have installed ElectroBoard as an app (PWA), close it and open it again — the new version will load. Your projects are not affected: they are stored separately in the browser.
Where do I report a bug?
The fastest way is from inside the app: the "Ticket" button on the panel page opens built-in support with a two-way conversation — you can attach a screenshot and the admin replies in the same thread. See Support and Reports for details. You can also message us on Telegram: eBoard_UA.
