⚡ Calculations

Cable Cross-Section Calculator

Sizes the minimum conductor cross-section for the given parameters:

  • Load power or current
  • Installation method (in a wall, in conduit, on the surface, underground)
  • Circuit length

Output: the recommended cross-section, the permissible current (ampacity), and the voltage drop — evaluated across the IEC 60364-5-52 range.

Breaker Selection Calculator

Selects the rating and tripping characteristic of a miniature circuit breaker (MCB, IEC 60898-1):

  • From load power or current
  • Accounting for the load type (cos φ, inrush factor)
  • With a cable-coordination cross-check

Output: the recommended rating, the tripping curve (B/C/D), and the minimum cable cross-section.

Voltage Drop Calculator

Calculates the voltage drop along a cable run:

  • Cross-section and length
  • Current or power
  • Conductor material (copper / aluminium)

Output: the drop in volts and per cent, assessed against the usual limits (3% for lighting, 5% for other circuits). Single-phase runs use the double-length formula; three-phase runs apply the √3 factor for the 400 V line voltage.

Phase Balance Calculator

Helps distribute the load across the phases of a three-phase supply:

  • Enter the load on each phase
  • See the imbalance as a percentage

RCD / RCBO Selection

Selects the parameters of a residual-current device (RCD) or a combined RCBO for a circuit:

  • Room or circuit type (bathroom, kitchen, socket circuits, lighting, outdoor/garage, workshop, main fire-protection incomer, server equipment)
  • Earthing system (TN-S, TN-C-S, TT, TN-C, IT) — with a warning that an RCD cannot work on a TN-C system
  • Number of phases, group power, and number of circuits under one device
  • An inverter-load flag (washing machine, air conditioner, variable-speed drive) that raises the device type to A

Output: the recommended device type (AC / A / B / S-selective, per IEC 61008 / 61009), the residual current (10 / 30 / 300 mA — 30 mA for personnel protection per IEC 60364-4-41), the rated current from the 16–100 A range, the pole count (2P or 4P), and the maximum number of groups per device.

Whole-House Power Calculator

Estimates the total demand of a property from a list of appliances:

  • Catalogue of 28 household appliances with typical power ratings
  • 4 presets: 1- and 2-room apartment, house, garage
  • Diversity (demand) factor

Output: the installed and design power, the recommended main breaker, the cable cross-section, and the supply type (single- or three-phase).

Lighting Calculator

Calculates the number of lamps for a room against illuminance targets (EN 12464-1):

  • 12 room types (residential, office, utility)
  • 4 lamp technologies: LED, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent
  • Ceiling-height and wall-colour correction

Output: the required luminous flux (lm), the lamp count, the circuit power, and a recommended breaker and cable.


🔄 Converters

W ↔ A ↔ V Converter

Converts between current, power, and voltage for different supply types:

  • Single-phase (230 V), three-phase (400 V), DC
  • 3 modes: W→A, A→W, V×A→W
  • Power factor cos φ (slider 0.5–1.0)
  • 6 presets for common loads

Output: the current, the active and apparent power, and a recommended breaker and cable cross-section.

AWG ↔ mm² Converter

A cross-reference table from American Wire Gauge to metric cross-sections (IEC 60228):

  • 15 AWG sizes (from AWG 0 to AWG 24)
  • Two-way conversion: AWG → mm² and mm² → AWG
  • Conductor diameter, permissible current (in a cable and in free air)
  • Nearest metric equivalent and typical use

Useful when working with imported equipment from the US or Canada.

Wire Colours

A colour-coding table for conductors across three standards:

  • IEC 60446 / HD 308 S2 — the harmonised European coding
  • Legacy Soviet-era coding (older installations)
  • NEC (US and Canada)

Electricity Cost

A calculator of daily, monthly, and yearly electricity spend:

  • 8 default appliances plus a catalogue of 10 more presets (electric hob, EV charging, heat pump, etc.)
  • Custom appliances (power + hours per day)
  • Country presets (Ukraine, Germany, France, Poland, Czechia, Spain, United Kingdom) each with an indicative tariff
  • A VAT toggle (price with/without tax) and a two-zone day/night tariff

Output: the daily/monthly/yearly cost, the top consumers with a bar chart, and saving tips.


🏷️ Design

Panel Label Generator

Creates printable labels for modular devices on a DIN rail:

  • Several rails with any number of modules
  • Support for MCBs, RCDs, RCBOs, isolators, contactors, SPDs, and fuses
  • Phase colour-coding L1/L2/L3 per IEC 60446
  • Selectable module width — 17.5, 18 or 18.5 mm (18.5 by default), plus a per-device custom width

Output: an A4 sheet of labels ready to print. The state is saved in the browser between sessions.
